Annika Ström was born in Helsingborg, Sweden in 1964. Between 1991 -1997 she studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, and currently lives in London, UK.

Ström’s humorous performances, text works, videos and paintings are structured around the poetic transfiguration of everyday life. She often works with friends and members of her family to create emotive and intimate situations, and produces low-fi synth-pop soundtracks for her films.
