Helena Papadopoulos is a curator and writer based in Athens. In her lecture, she will talk about her work as founder and director of the exhibition space Radio Athènes.

Radio Athènes institute for the advancement of contemporary visual culture is a non-profit organization founded in 2015 presenting exhibitions, lectures, performances, screenings and readings in the fields of contemporary art, literature, philosophy, dance and the applied arts. Recent shows at Radio Athènes include a three-part exhibition on the work of Greek artist George Tourkovasilis, which Papadopoulos realised in collaboration with the exhibition spaces AKWA IBOM and Melas Martinos in 2022 and solo exhibitions by Polys Peslikas and Nikos Velmos.

The event is part of an online lecture series of the class Florian Pumhösl, co-organised by Simon Lässig and Vera Lutz. The series aims to look at Athens as a model for how collaborations between artists, galleries and artist-run spaces can generate their very own institutional infrastructure and dicourse. The event is open to the public, will be held in English and can be accessed through the following link.
