"Amy Sillman, born in Detroit 1955, is a New York based visual artist, known for paintings that move between abstraction and representation. In addition to painting, Sillman works across non-traditional media, including animation, zines, and more recently, installations that extend the painted surface to cover walls and floors.
Sillman is an active writer – Recent publications include *Faux Pas*, a collection of essays on John Chamberlain, Eugène Delacroix, Rachel Harrison, and Laura Owens (After 8 Books, Paris).
She has taught at Bard College and Städelschule, among other institutions.
Sillman has curated exhibitions such as *Shape of Shape*, 2019 (Museum of Modern Art, NY).
Her work has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including *Alternate Side*, Dia Bridgehampton NY, 2025, *Oh Clock*, Kunstmuseum Bern, 2024, *Landline*, Camden Arts Centre, London, UK, 2018, *One Lump or Two*, Hessel Museum of Art, Bard College, NY, 2014."

*The lecture will be held in English.
