Project leadership "Images _ Worlds of Images _ World Views"

 

Ernst Wagner is lecturer and researcher at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where he coordinates the project Images _ Worlds of Images _ World Views


He is also visiting professor at the UNESCO-Chair in Arts and Culture in Education at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg


Ernst Wagner studied art education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and exhibited artwork in Germany and the United States.


He is graduated with a PhD in art history at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, minors: philosophy and ethnology.


He taught visual arts at secondary schools for several years.


From 2006 to 2014 he was employed by the Institute for School Quality and Research in Education in Munich (responsible for art, film and drama education, curriculum development and central assessment).


He is honorary professor at the Hong Kong University of Education.


His research is focused on Visual Literacy, International Cooperation and Intercultural Communication, Heritage Education / Art History, Arts Education and Education for Sustainable Development.


He has published over 300 books and chapters in seven languages.
