In cooperation with Kulturreferat München, Nicolás Combarro is an artist-in-residence in Villa Waldberta. During the the months of March and April 2021, he has been conducting an extensive research on the context of architecture/repression/representation. The origin of the project is a research on architectures of repression in Spain during Franco’s dictatorship: concentration camps, labor camps, political prisons. Most of these architectures have disappeared and the memory of them, of the prisoners and of the dark repressive function of the dictatorial regime, has fallen into oblivion. In his lecture he will talk about his working context: archive/memory/artistic action

*The lecture will be held in English.
