"Philippe Buchs is an architect and curator based in Geneva.
Co-founder of Sujets Objets / (2020), since 2019 he is involved in teaching and will be guest professor at the ETHZ in fall 2026. Since 2025 he co-curates the experimental space Arimna in Athens. Sujets Objets (SO/) is an architectural practice based in Geneva, founded in 2020 by Dafni Retzepi, Thierry Buache, Charline Dayer, and Philippe Buchs. As an office, they place great value on what is already there — built or unbuilt — working closely with the existing context and exploring how minimal gestures can produce maximum effects. While architecture is often seen as a product-oriented discipline, SO/ challenges this notion by using the process of making a project as a field for experimentation and engagement. For SO/, the act of building is not a final goal but part of a continuous transformation that begins on the very first day of the project. Each site becomes a laboratory where the practice tests alternative ways of producing spaces, often through 1:1 scale prototypes that question conventions and norms.
*The lecture will be held in English.“
