Information for students, employees and visitors of AdBK Munich (last updated 16 March 2020)

 

In accordance with the regulations issued by the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs on 10 March 2020, all in-person classes are canceled with immediate effect until 20 April 2020. This also applies to off-site events (exhibitions, field trips, study travel, portfolio reviews) and depends on the number of participants.


New measures to be implemented at AdBK Munich (last updated 16 March 2020)


In light of the current situation, additional measures will be taken and implemented at AdBK.


1. Main building (older structure)
The main building will be closed from 16 March 2020, 5 p.m., through 19 April 2020, including all classrooms, the Academy library and the cafeteria.


Can I collect my personal items left in the classrooms?


You can pick up your personal belongings on 17-20 March 2020 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. (during this time, please contact Mr. Oeckl by phone at 0175/7274476)

and between

5 p.m. and 7 p.m. (during this time, please talk to the porter at the main entrance of the main building)


As of 23 March 2020, please contact the student administration office to make an appointment.


Please keep in mind that, for organizational reasons, access will only be granted to students with a valid ID and that each visit will be documented to make sure that the student has left the building.


2. New building


As of 17 March 2020, the Academy's new building will be open

from 9 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Outside these hours, access will only be granted to authorized persons, i.e. teachers and administrative staff.


Will the student administration office be open?


Please note that the student administration office will not be open to the public. Until further notice, the student administration and examination offices may only be contacted via email or phone.

Tue and Thu, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.


As such, validation will only be available between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.


3. Academy library closed
In accordance with regulations issued by the Bavarian Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs on 13 March 2020, all reading and study rooms of university libraries in Bavaria will be closed through 19 April 2020.


In line with past practice, students studying for the art education exam will be allowed to check out books from the library.  Students from other programs of study with urgent requests (e.g. pertaining to exams) may contact the relevant teaching staff, who will arrange a way to access to required literature with the library management.


We will also provide a way to access to library media for art and science staff.


4. Student atelier workshops are closed.


Regular hours will continue to apply to special activities being conducted by teaching staff and those in charge of the atelier workshops.


5. The administration remains in service.
