New Building
The New Building of the Academy of Fine Arts Munich is completely barrier-free. The upper floors and the workshops are accessible via lifts.
A wheelchair-accessible toilet is located on the ground floor in the western part of the building (on the left from the entrance).
Parking is possible in front of the building. Please register at the gate, Tel: 089/3852 109.

 

Old Building
The Old Building is a listed historical building and was made as barrier-free as possible during its renovation. A barrier-free access is possible via the back of the building. There are two parking spaces there, one of which has the dimensions of a minibus. Access to the parking spaces is possible via the gate between the Old and New Buildings, see PDF:

 

 

Barrier-free access
From the back of the building, a ramp leads into the Old Building. The door is equipped with an opening aid. There is a lift in the middle part of the building which can be used to reach all floors.
Two wheelchair-accessible toilets are located in the middle of the building in the basement.
Exceptions - the following rooms are not barrier-free accessible due to the historical structure of the building:
- The classroom of the study programme “Fine Arts and Therapy”.
- The study workshop and the rooms of the Jewellery class on the mezzanine floor
- The so called “Kolosssaal” in the basement
- The archive rooms on the mezzanine floor and the gallery levels of the library.

 

Unisex toilets


New Building
Unisex restrooms have been installed at the following locations: First floor (Auditorium) and 2nd floor (seminar room - presidium) in the western part of the building (from the entrance on the left) and on the mezzanine floor on the east side (from the entrance on the right).

 

Old Building
The transformation of four restrooms into unisex restrooms will take place during the year, as some construction work is necessary here. (Status April 2023)
